Please look at the News Feed section, Facebook, or Twitter for two important posts. One post is about online resources to support student learning at home. The other is one is about assisting families with a FREE lunch program starting this week.

Andrew Families,
Here is a link to a children’s YouTube video made by children’s book author Julia Cook about the “Yucky Bug” to help kids understand what is happening in this time of uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus.

Read around the Clock that was scheduled for Friday March 20th is CANCELLED! Will keep you informed if it works to reschedule.

At the recommendation of the governor of Iowa, Andrew CSD will be closed for a minimum of four weeks. Effective March 17, only essential staff will be able to access the school. Staff PD will be held as scheduled for March 16. If you need any student belongings, etc please gather them from school tomorrow. We are working on plans to offer options for learning at home, meals for students, and more. We will communicate additional details as soon as possible. We urge you to practice social distancing as much as possible to protect the elderly and those with other health issues. Remember, we are a school family and we will get through this together. Take Care.

Dear Andrew Community, The Andrew administration is continuing to work with all our partners to determine the best course of action to best respond to the coronavirus threat. No decisions have been made but there is a strong chance that extended school closures will occur, even as early as Tuesday of this week. Please coordinate plans with your family to prepare for any changes in our school schedule. We will keep you posted ASAP with any new developments. Take Care!

The Andrew Adcraft web store opens tomorrow until March 19th. During this time you can purchase school apparel from this site. Once the items are ready, they will be shipped to your house.

We have FINALLY implemented the new WONDER WALL in Mr. Riedesel’s classroom!! Today, the Middle School TAG group WONDERED why tornados form in supercells. Our research led to learning about the EF-5 tornado that tore through Parkersburg, Iowa in 2008. I think we have some future weather scientists/meteorologists on our hands!
