GPA2 Recruiting has partnered with the IA WOLVES to host the “Best in the Midwest” best 3-point shootout for middle school and high school ballers all across Iowa. Yes, all the schools in Iowa.
Our need from you:
We would love it if you could provide the following information to your students to make this event a success and showcase the talented young women & young men who play basketball throughout the state.
Rules of the 3-point Contest:
MS (6-8th) :30 sec 2x’s, HS Athletes: 9th - 11th :30 sec 2x’s, 12th 1:00 2x’s
1st Round: combine the scores - leaders advanced to 2nd round
2nd Round: Compete against 2025 Top 5 Finalists, combine score, high score, advance to 3rd round
3rd Round: Determines the Finalist - Move on to Casey's Center (Championships)
Format may change depending on participation numbers
Preliminary Rounds will be held at: Prairie Trails Sports Complex in Ankeny on Friday, March 13th, 2026. You will need to arrive prior to 5:00 pm in order to get the correct registration for the competition. 5:30 pm will be the official start time.

ANDREW FAMILIES: Andrew will be running a REGULAR SCHEDULE on Tuesday, March 3rd. Even though Maquoketa schools will be running a 2-hour late start schedule due to the state basketball game, our students will begin on time at 8:00 am. Any MS/HS students who normally ride the bus to Maquoketa, will be picked up on a 2-hour delayed schedule. The bus will stop at school to pick up town kids, planning to leave for Maquoketa around 9:30 am.

Andrew Elementary is a premier PreK-6 grade school located in eastern Iowa. The staff at Andrew Elementary School have a passion to meet the educational needs of the 150 students that they serve. Andrew is a Leader in Me school who has achieved and maintained Lighthouse status due to our extensive work implementing the character education centered around the 8 Habits of Highly Successful Students.
We are seeking a Prek-6 General Music Instructor who is also able to teach 5th and 6th-grade Band. We are looking for a candidate who is creative, energetic, and passionate about helping our students learn about and experiment with music! If you have a student who attends Maquoketa Middle/High School and rides the bus, please look at the communication from Maquoketa Schools. Any transportation needs you have, need to be communicated through Maquoketa.
I know the weather is getting a little warmer, especially for February. Please remember to still send your child to school with a coat (spring or winter). In order to go outside to play, we expect all students to wear a coat (not just a hooded sweatshirt).

The Jackson County Energy District and Jackson County Conservation are working with Neighborhood Forest to give out free trees to all kids in our area. Neighborhood Forest gives free trees to kids every Earth Day!

We are looking forward to our upcoming field trip to the hockey game on Thursday, February 12! To help keep our group easily identifiable and to show our school pride, we are asking all students to please wear their leadership shirts on the day of the trip.
If possible, please have your child wear their leadership shirt to school that morning. If your child is unable to locate their shirt or has any issues, please let us know ahead of time so we can help.
