Iowa State University Extension is offering a basic and advanced babysitting course in Maquoketa for 5th and 6th grade students. If you are interested in taking the course stop in the office and pick up a form. You must register by January 31st.

4th grade is learning about Opinion Writing. They had 5 questions they had to discuss with a partner. It was a great activity to get us up and moving around!

Lots of fun had in Fun Zone tonight!
The 4th/5th Math TAG group was working on mean, median and mode using dominoes and decks of cards.
Lots of fun tonight at Leap: Math Bingo, Dodgeball and scooter races.
We examined trees and how they keep from blowing down in the wind. Using these observations students designed an umbrella that could stay up in strong winds.
We learned all about lizards last night from the Mississippi River Museum. 🦎
Before break we sent out information about how the number of free/reduced price lunch students affects our school funding. Currently, the future of our after school program is in jeopardy if more Andrew CSD families do not accept the assistance they qualify for. This is the last chance to apply in order to help our school qualify for the funding to offer before/after school LEAP and more.
