Courageous Leadership

At Andrew CSD, we believe that in order to create a future ready school district, our leadership must be able to demonstrate the following skills. These skills, adapted from our technology plan, are the ISTE administrator standards

Visionary Leadership
  • Create a vision for success in digital tools and learning. 
  • Build buy in and capacity for implementing the vision with all stakeholders. 
  • Communicate digital age learning culture to stakeholders
  • Advocate to policy makers about the successes of Andrew and how they can help Andrew in the future through progressive policy. 
Digital Age Learning Culture
  • Model high levels of digital tools by school leaders. 
  • Create environments for collaboration in digital environments
  • Provide resources and opportunities for staff to engage in digital learning
Excellence in Professional Practice
  • Model a PLN for staff and help staff create their own PLN
  • Provide resources for staff to be successful with digital tools
  • Engage in learning opportunities with staff in professional growth with digital tools
Systematic Improvement
  • Collect and analyze important data points to measure technology growth and implementation of digital tools
  • Ensure a strong infrastructure for digital environments to work smoothly for teachers and students
  • Hire and retain high tech teachers who will expand and implement the school's vision for digital learning



Digital Citizenship
  • Ensure equitable access for all kids to achieve success with digital tools
  • Model appropriate use of social media and all digital technology in schools
  • Create opportunities for discussion around global concepts and connectivity in digital learning
