Andrew Schools is excited to invite you to our first annual “Leadership Day”! Leadership day is an event focused on celebrating the greatness in each of your students within the “Leader In Me” program. Guests at Leadership Day will participate in our welcome rally in which students will present and speak about the impact of the seven habits! Guests will also have the opportunity to visit classrooms, tour the building, and interact with students and teachers to experience the power of leadership at Andrew Schools. At the end of the event, guests will be able to participate in our monthly tradition of our awards assembly. The awards assembly recognizes students and staff for various leadership qualities and is completely ran by the students at Andrew Schools!

To help us with planning, we ask that you RSVP online via the link below or by calling the office at 563-672-3221. Leadership Day is a public event and is open to community members, parents, business leaders, and area schools.

Andrew CSD is located in Andrew, IA. We are a small PK-8 school serving nearly 200 students everyday. Our 9-12 students attend neighboring high schools in Maquoketa and Bellevue.

Andrew is in year one of the Leader In Me implementation. We started our journey with a visit to another Leader In Me school in Muscatine, IA and followed it up with the book study of the “Leader In Me” book by Stephen Covey. This fall, staff went through three intensive training days focused on the 7 habits of highly effective people. Since then, staff have had two other days of training focused on implementation of the Leader In Me principals.

We are focused on continuing to see our students and staff cultivate their leadership skills over the next several years. Starting next year, all students will be using a leadership notebook daily in their classrooms. Currently, 2nd grade and 5th grade classrooms have had a highly successful pilot with their leadership notebooks this Spring.

As you visit Andrew, you will notice that our environment speaks and breaths leadership. We have leader inspired murals, student work focused on leadership and the seven habits, and much more. Students have had a big impact in creating the culture of the building.

If you have any questions regarding Leadership Day or the Leader In Me program, please contact Andy Crozier, Superintendent.
