Drop off & Pick up Zones

Parents,

We are off to great start to the school year! I wanted to send a brief note home explaining a few details for the beginning and ending of the school day. With our high school students attending Maquoketa and Bellevue, we are trying to get a better feel for when buses are arriving and departing. Right now, we plan on leaving Andrew Schools at 7:45 a.m. to transport our high school students to neighboring schools. Students will be back to Andrew at 3:30 to catch their next bus home. I’ll be in constant communication with area Superintendents on how we can possibly tweak the schedule if needed to work for all Jackson County schools.
If you are dropping students off in the morning, please do not enter the playground/bus zone with your vehicle. We are working to increase student safety and one of the measures we are taking is to keep that zone automobile free in the morning and afternoon. You may drop your students off at either corner of the building. Each area will be supervised by a staff member. If you get to school early to pick up your child at the end of the day, please wait in one of the four waiting zones. At the bottom of this page is a map for you to reference the pick up/drop off areas.

Also, if you are dropping your student off, please do not do so until 7:45 a.m. If a student is dropped off before that time, they are unsupervised and not allowed in the building. The cafeteria will start serving breakfast at 7:45 a.m. Middle school students need to make sure they eat right away since their first bell will ring at 8 a.m. Elementary classrooms will not begin class until 8:10 allowing elementary students a few more minutes to eat breakfast.

If you have any questions about this letter, please feel free to call or email me. Let’s have a great year together!
